I’m trying not to be overly ambitious with writing/blogging. When I do that, the effort fizzles out – all momentum, no content.
Little steps. Little nuggets of blah blah. Random thoughts too long for Twitter. That’s what I’m going for.

I rediscovered my love for Maxwell.
In the mid to late 90’s until 2001, his music was witness and testament to my relationships. He was there when I fell in love, out of love, tried to get over that love, pined for love, hated love, didn’t want love and lather rinse repeat.
Sumthin’ Sumthin’ was MN and San Francisco.
Fortunate and Whenever Wherever Whatever was RJ and SoCal.
This Woman’s Work was JJ and the early days.
Maxwell’s lyrics and his vocal style evokes sensuality, long steamy nights, closed eyes and tangled up sheets. It’s not trite or overtly sexy. He’s subtle, almost whispers in your ear and gets under your skin. If you’ve never seen him live, you’re missing out.
I can’t wait for his new album. If his performance of Pretty Wings at the BET Awards was any indication, well…. I’ll leave it at that.

It’s been 3 months since my last post. My goodness, how time flies. It’s been a monumentally busy time – moving, getting settled, finding our bearings and enjoying the house. Not everything’s done but I know that a house is a work in progress.
I always feel so disjointed when I try to write after a long break. What do I write about?
To get my feet wet, I decided to copy Benita of Chez Larsson’s post.
Today…
Outside my window… grey clouds and rain.
I am thinking… how it feels like a Monday.
I am thankful for… being able to work from home (especially on days like this).
From the kitchen… toasted and buttered coconut bread with a cup of Colombian.
I am wearing… khaki shorts and blue tank top.
I am creating… a home from a house.
I am going… to make a to-do list for today and for this weekend.
I’m reading… Memories of Philippine Kitchens by Amy Besa and Romy Dorotan.
I am hoping… for a sunny Saturday.
I am hearing… raindrops on my roof.
Around the house… it’s pretty clean and tidy but sorely needs some decoration and lots of DIY projects.
One of my favorite things… is to stand in front of my bookcases, pick a book to read and lose myself in reading.
A few plans for the rest of the week… finish the office and the guest room, bake a strawberry cake and cornbread souffle, clean the house and relax.
A picture to share…

I try not to use swear words but this sign is EXACTLY how Jay and I try to live our life.

Right now, I have a cup of Casi Cielo coffee, a plate of cream cheese danishes and playing one of Oreginal’s awesome mixes. I’m also emailing, spreadsheeting, updating, analyzing and all the fun stuff that needs to be done in a work day. Oh and I’m wearing Lulus (pants and sweater) and I have Milkshake snoozing away by my feet. I’m breaking for lunch and will reheat last night’s Chicken Adobo with Coconut Milk.
I’ve been working since 8 am and I’m at home.
My work approved me for teleworking and I work from home 50% of the time. I’m equipped with a wireless router, a VoIP phone and my internet costs are supplemented.
It’s great! I get so much work done (to be honest, they get more work out of me) and I save money on transportation costs.
I’m so glad that I work where I work.
