I do hate writing these About Me pages. As if somehow, I can encapsulate my whole being in a few paragraphs using (probably) inept words.

Why are YOU here?

I’m guessing you’re here because you’re curious about me, my life and what I do with it. Maybe you don’t like me and would like to throw rocks at me and point out all the stupid things I do. Or maybe you do like me and just want to keep updated on all my gallivanting. Hey, whatever your reasons are – that’s your prerogative.

All I know is that you’re here now.

Writing | Blogging

I’ve been writing | blogging on-line since 2001. My previous blog (which still exists but unfortunately quite lonely) is not available for general viewing. Call me paranoid but there are 7 years of secrets there and I’d rather not shine a spotlight on those can of worms.  If you happen to have access to that site and you’re reading this site (my goodness, I’m flattered), then please know that I try to compartmentalize the two blogs. They’re not so different, just different flavours.

Places

I’ve lived in three different countries (Philippines, USA, Canada) and I’ve moved a ridiculous amount of times. What does that say about me? I’m adaptable out of necessity. And to be adaptable, one must be observant.

Tells

I’m an observer (duh I said that already) and just like the title of this site, I’m publicly private. I’m public enough with my information to satiate most people. But really, there’s a lot more I’m not saying. I keep a lot of things inside. Majority of my thoughts do make it to one site or another. It’s my way of venting – writing. It’s my free form of therapy.

Love

I’m lucky in love – with friends and family. But I’m especially lucky with romantic love. I’ve had some amazing experiences with wonderful men. None of them can hold a candle to the love of my life. Yes, he snores and he likes all things fried. But he’s mine and I’m his and yes you can barf now. That’s as sappy as I’m going to get about that. I’ve even more love to add to my life in the form of my beautiful son. He’s a life changer in the best way possible.

Do

I’m a baker for fun and a business analyst for work. I’m sure you don’t want to read about Use Cases and Requirements Documents here but you wouldn’t mind seeing some recipes and photos of yummy cakes, cookies, brownies, cheesecakes and all that diabetes-inducing treats. I’ll try to comply as I love to bake and I love to eat.

Core

I am a proud Pinay. That pride manifests in so many ways, some consciously and some subconsciously.

Pets

My pets walk all over me. We have a Jack Russell Terrier named Milkshake and a domestic short hair cat named KitKat. They’re crazy and selfish and loving and spastic. They’re mine and if pets are mirror images of their owners, then Jay and I are in trouble.

Vices

Food and Books. Seriously, I will pretty much do anything to get to a good Ropa Vieja or to spend a day at Chapters.
